Tory plan to put £118 back in your pocket

SCOTS could save £118 per person under public spending plans by the Scottish Tories who claim the SNP is squandering millions of pounds a year.

The Scottish Government will set out proposals for reform today amid criticism of a bloated civil service.

First Minister John Swinney admitted earlier this week that he had identified £1bn of savings a year that can be made through cutting waste.

But he failed to say where this waste came from and why it took so long to be found.

The civil service expanded to 9,000 full time employees last year.
