Ben: Scots must kick door open to World Cup finals

- BY SCOTT MCDERMOTT

SCOTLAND star man Ben Gannon-Doak says the team must kick down the World Cup door by demolishing Denmark at Hampden tomorrow night.

The young winger who bagged a first goal for his country in a 3-2 loss to Greece on Saturday night appreciates Steve Clarke's side have a golden opportunity to reach the finals in Canada, Mexico and the USA next summer.

A victory over the Danes will book their place in history as the first Scots side to do it since 1998.

Gannon-Doak is confident. But the Bournemouth ace believes the only way they'll succeed it is by seizing the moment to make it happen this time under their own steam after relying on 103rd-ranked Belarus to keep their automatic qualification dream alive.

Clarke's boys are still in the hunt, despite losing in Piraeus, thanks to the Danes' 2-2 draw with the Belarusians.
