Suicide bid bus driver killer is jailed for life

A SPURNED lover who murdered a bus driver by deliberately driving into his vehicle during a bungled suicide attempt has been given a life sentence.

David Livingstone killed Gordon Stirling in an act described by a judge as "selfish in the extreme".

The convicted drug dealer has now been told that he must serve a minimum of 19 years before being able to apply for parole.

The horrific incident occurred as Mr Stirling, who was 23, was driving his single-decker Stagecoach bus in Ayrshire more than two years ago.

The High Court in Stirling was told that Livingstone had planned to take his own life after splitting with his long-term partner.
