Spin doctors attempted to 'water down' Peggie papers

NHS Scotland has been dragged into another secrecy row over the Sandie Peggie case after it emerged spin doctors tried to water down what internal documents were released to public.

PR bosses wanted to withhold damning details about the landmark employment tribunal on “single-sex spaces” following a Freedom of Information request.

In-house lawyers were forced to reprimand the spin doctors and remind them of their legal duties under the legislation, marking a new twist in the transparency battle over the case.
