Last night St Johnstone owner Adam Webb, right, became the first to publicly declare his intentions to vote against a 10-team top flight.

He said: "That would be a huge mistake. The bar - for good or for bad when it comes to UK football or world football - is the English Premiership. They've got 20 clubs.

"We're not the same size as England and we're not going to have 20 clubs in our Premiership. But you want to edge closer to that because it is a more familiar system that is more geared towards success on the world stage and on the UK stage.
