Success in Galway can be spark for a play-off berth

EDINBURGH match-winner Charlie Shiel reckons his team will go into Friday’s URC showdown with Ulster full of confidence after their victory over Connacht at the weekend.

Shiel’s brilliant solo effort on Saturday night helped the capital club to a 31-21 win in Galway. Now they need to beat Ulster at the Hive in their last regular-season game of the season — and hope other results go their way - to book their place in the play-offs.

And the scrum-half thinks his team deserve more credit for the fighting spirit they have shown in big games this season. He said: “Ulster are definitely one of those teams that have challenged us.
