Scots council mocked after 'trans' survey

A SCOTS council has been mocked after asking about locals' trans status in an innocuous survey about bike lanes and pavement improvements.

Edinburgh City Council slipped in a question about whether the potential respondent identified as a trans person when asking about proposals to improve “walking, wheeling and cycling” along Dundee Street and Fountainbridge in the city.

Physical copies of the survey are available in libraries and public buildings in that region of the city, and one was picked up by women’s rights campaigner and former councillor Susan Dalgety.

She described how she passed the form to her husband as he will be the one impacted by travel changes.
