Cameras follow comedian Jon Richardson as he bands together with the community to help restore their historical local pub
-
bloody love pubs. I love a city pub, I love a sports bar, I love country pubs," declares Jon Richardson, which might explain his latest project.
Jon has joined forces with the locals in Fadmoor, North Yorkshire, to save historic boozer The Plough. And he's filmed his escapades for More4.
Dating back to 1782, the pub has been dormant for the last 15 years. Now Jon has banded together with the local community and been let loose with some power tools for the first time ever to try and bring the building back to life.
Not that he's found his introduction to renovation easy, and Jon promises his coworkers spend much of the show mocking his efforts.
"That is a recurring theme," says Jon. "I've been doing comedy for 20 years, there's no tangible thing I've ever achieved. Even just to grout a tile and to be able to say, 'Oh, I can come for a wee in here in 30 years and see a bit of grouting and know that I did it,' is a totally unique feeling to me. So I'll take the mockery. I repointed some of the stone wall outside, and I've sent that picture of that repointing to every friend and family member I've got."
