Race moves you to tears
Scottish Daily Express
|May 28, 2025
THERE’S nothing wrong with shedding a tear or two when you're watching RACE ACROSS THE WORLD (BBC1, 9pm).
Obviously, two should be your absolute limit — show some self-restraint, for heaven’s sake — but otherwise, yes, it’s good to let it all out.
Or some of it.
I’m not ashamed to admit that I wept a little myself in the final minutes of last week’s episode.
For the first time since the race began, Caroline and her son Tom (aged 60 and 21 respectively) arrived at the checkpoint, opened the visitors’ book and saw, to their astonishment, a blank page. Yes, exactly. None of the other teams had signed it!
Could this mean what it appeared to mean: that Caroline and Tom had checked in at the wrong hotel, the dozy beggars?
