After the brinkmanship and dodgy deals of recent years, this will no doubt prove a relief to John Swinney and the SNP.

Anas Sarwar says his Scottish Labour party won't stand in the way of the spending plans for 2026/27.

No doubt he hopes to be in charge of the purse strings himself after the election, meaning he can rip up this budget and start again.
