Cannabis fears...retirement block and warning note sent to residents, above

- By George Jones

PENSIONERS at a retirement block have been told off for allegedly smoking cannabis — and warned that police will be summoned if they are found with illegal drugs.

Management wrote to all residents cautioning them against illegal substance use last week.

It reminded them “all communal areas are smoke-free, including corridors, lifts and stairwells”.

But it added: “In the event that illegal substances are present anywhere in the building action will be taken.”

Homemanor House has 85 flats and houses around 90 people in Watford, Herts. It accepts only residents who are 60 years or older.
