New listings fuel hopes of Stock Exchange comeback

THE beleaguered stock exchange rallied at the end of 2025 with 11 companies listing for the first time and expectations of a revival this year.

The initial public offerings (IPOs) in London in the final quarter raised £1.9bn, bringing the total number of listings for the year to 23.

The newcomers — following an exodus of firms — included tinned tuna giant Princes, and The Beauty Tech Group. The nine listings on the main market and 12 on AIM raised roughly £2.1bn over the course of 2025, a 170% year on year increase from £777.7m.

But despite the sharp rise in revenue, IPO activity remained muted other than the final quarter jump.
