Motorcyclist fatality is third

A MOTORCYCLIST has become the third biker to die on Scotland's roads in just 48 hours.

It comes as an annual safety campaign to reduce traffic fatalities is launched.

The latest tragedy occurred in south Ayrshire last Friday.

Brian McGill was killed when his KTM 1290 Superduke crashed on the B741, south-west of Hamilton Bridge, Crosshill.

It happened just before 5pm and the 59-year-old from Dailly, near Girvan, Ayrshire was pronounced dead at the scene. Sergeant Nick Twigg, of Police Scotland, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr McGill and inquiries are ongoing.
