Moment wife is arrested over plot to kill husband

JURORS have been shown the moment a wife’s smile vanished as she was arrested for plotting with her lover to kill her husband.

They saw footage of Ethel Mills being held over plans to murder her spouse Christopher.

She had been in a secret relationship with Geraint Berry for three months, and they had “fantasised” about killing her husband and starting a new life together, a court heard.

Mr Mills opened the door at the couple’s caravan to find two masked gunmen who burst in, striking him in the face. The ex-soldier disarmed one and tackled the other before they fled, leaving him injured and in shock.

Ethel Mills and Berry meant to make his murder look like a suicide and even produced a fake note of Mr Mills stating that he “couldn’t live with himself” for what he had done to her.
