Martindale is taking tough love approach to Tete
Scottish Daily Express
|September 16, 2025
LIVINGSTON manager Davie Martindale says he won't get off Tete Yengi’s back until the striker fulfils his potential and earns the big move he craves.
The 24-year-old Australian, left, had spells in his homeland, England and Finland before pitching up in West Lothian in 2024.
Having angled for a transfer earlier this year that failed to mat rialise, the campaign culminated in Livi earning promotion back to the Premiership, with Yengi scoring a vital goal in their playoff final win against Ross County.
Last month he signed a one-year contract extension which ties him to the Lions until summer 2027, and while Martindale praised the frontman for his work-rate in last weekend's 0-0 draw at Aberdeen, he is convinced Yengi's career can hit greater heights.
