Learners face wait of more than five months for driving test slots

LEARNER drivers have to wait more than five months to book a test at 81% of centres, it has emerged.

A total of 258 locations had the maximum possible waiting time of 24 weeks as of May 5 — four out of five sites. That is up from 161 at the start of the year.

AA Driving School, which obtained the figures from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, warned the situation “cannot get much worse”.
