Maxwell backs calls to honour Clarke but new deal talks can wait till after Xmas
SCOTTISH FA chief Ian Maxwell has backed calls for national boss Steve Clarke to be knighted, but revealed he has no plans to rush into any discussions over a new deal.
Clarke is still celebrating - as is an entire nation - the greatest triumph of his six-and-a-half years in charge after leading his side to next summer's World Cup finals with a thrilling 4-2 win over Denmark on Tuesday night.
