JACK'S ON WAY BACK

JACK DEMPSEY has been backed to prove himself ready to return for Scotland next month - as long as he comes through his Glasgow Warriors comeback unscathed.

The 31-year-old back-rower hasn't played since March when he suffered a hamstring injury against Wales.

He was then just minutes away from his Warriors return last month, only to tweak his groin in the warm-up.

But Dempsey is now fully up to speed and in line to feature against the Bulls in the URC at Scotstoun on Friday night.

Glasgow defence coach Scott Forrest said: "Jack is looking good and trained fully last week. So I would expect him to be back in the mix this weekend.

"He wants to get himself back on the pitch ahead of the autumn internationals.

"But it's also just great for us to have somebody of his quality involved again.

"For him to go down 20 minutes before kick-off in the Sharks game - I know that was tough for him.

"And I think it shows it was the right thing not to push him through at that point.
