Almost a third (31%) would not dream of having it for an afternoon snack - a similar number (30%) find a Victoria sandwich, as loved by the late Queen, equally outdated.

A poll of Gen Z Britons, aged between 18 and 30, found they are also turning their backs on iced buns (30%) and custard slices (27%) while even the great British treat of a scone with cream and jam earned a thumbs-down from 23% of the 2,000 asked.
