NEW ZEALAND head coach Darren Bazeley says the ease with which Kilmarnock's George Stanger has stepped up to the Premiership earned him his first full call-up.
The 25-year-old has played for the All Whites at Under-20 and U23 level, but has now been selected for the full squad for the first time. Bazeley has been impressed with the defender's Killie performances this season and brought him into his squad for the friendlies against Poland tonight and Norway on Tuesday.
"I have known George for a long time," said Bazeley.
"He played for me at the first Under-20s.
"I was also with him when we went to the Olympics in Tokyo back in 2021. He played over there and did well.
"George was then toiling away in the lower leagues in Scotland but has got this move to the Premiership with Kilmarnock.
