Graham Norton hosts a unique new reality show where a street of families compete for a cash prize

During his three decades spent working on TV, Graham Norton thought he'd seen everything until ITV1 asked him to host The Neighbourhood.

In this brand-new reality TV format, households must compete in a street-sized popularity contest, battling it out for the chance to win a £250,000 cash prize.

Set in a village in Derbyshire, six families move into a quiet lane called Keepyourenemies Close. They then compete against each other in a variety of community challenges and also have the opportunity to vote each other out of the competition. The families voted out have their houses put up for sale, and the last house standing wins.

Here, Graham tells us just what happens behind closed doors.

Hi, Graham! What excited you most about The Neighbourhood?

It is properly a new format. It leans into our curiosity about what's behind closed doors and there's something really compelling and addictive about seeing the way the existing households interact with each other. I'd never want to work on something I wouldn't watch - this show would hook me! We've seen reality competitions in jungles and on islands, but The Neighbourhood brings the drama to a literal front door.
