Innocent man released after 38 years is 'very overwhelmed'

A MAN who spent 38 years in prison after being wrongly convicted of murder is overwhelmed by the decision, his lawyer said yesterday.
Peter Sullivan, 68, finally had his name cleared on Tuesday after decades protesting his innocence.
DNA evidence was unearthed, due to scientific advances last year, showing it was another unknown man who raped and murdered 21-year-old Diane Sindall in Merseyside in 1986.
Mr Sullivan’s solicitor, Sarah Myatt, said they would consider seeking compensation. Describing Mr Sullivan's reaction to the Court of Appeal's decision, she said:
