THERE is only one thing missing from Bob MacIntyre's CV - a major.

Scotland's latest sporting hero has already achieved more over the past five years than the majority of his rivals do in an entire career.

Two Ryder Cup victories, four DP World Tour titles and the Canadian Open - and he doesn't turn 30 until next August.

But after conquering the Old Course to register a four-shot victory at the $5million Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, the Oban left-hander said: “It’s no secret. A major championship is what I need or what I want.

“But if I play every major for the next 10 years, it’s 40 chances, and I’m hoping that in one of them I'm going to fall across the line.

“I’ve got goals and I know I've got the game. It’s now just about piecing it all together.

“T've got Augusta next year and we'll give that a go. If I do that sooner rather than later, we add to that.”

MacIntyre came within a whisker of living his dream when he finished runner-up to JJ Spaun at this year's US Open.
