Falkirk takes spot in top 10 across UK for home value rises
FALKIRK has emerged as Scotland’s ‘housing hotspot’ in 2025.
The Central Belt town, easily reachable from both Glasgow and Edinburgh, saw house prices rise by 7.1% during the year.
It is the highest rise in Scotland and ninth highest in the UK.
The average house in Falkirk now costs £238,512 while the average house in Scotland now costs £257,399, a rise of 3.7%.
Plymouth, Stafford and Wigan were named as the biggest movers and shakers of the UK property market during the year.
The Devon naval city enjoyed the steepest rise in the value of homes up 12.6% on 2024, according to Lloyds, which analysed its own mortgage data.
Stafford and Wigan also recorded double-digit growth, with prices up by 12.0% and 10.5% respectively.
