THIS Thursday we mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, when the Second World War ended for tens of millions of people.

Celebratory events will be kicking off this morning across the country. In London, the Royal Family will be out in force with a tea party at Buckingham Palace for veterans and their families, a military procession along the Mall and a flypast.
