Gold pedal! Biking chase PC is top cop
Scottish Daily Express
|July 30, 2025
A COP whose smart thinking went viral when he borrowed a passerby’s bike to catch a thief has been named his force’s Police Officer of the Year.
Bodycam footage of PC Paddy Connell chasing a stolen Range Rover became an online hit last year.
The suspect first tried to reverse away from his patrol car, before later hitting 80mph in a 30mph zone. The man crashed the 4x4 into parked cars then leapt out and jumped a fence.
