WHATEVER happens at today's Budget, whether it's good news or bad about property taxes, it won't change the fact that most of us will need to buy or sell a house at some point - and that's where TV property expert Phil Spencer can help.
Best-known for co-hosting Channel 4's Location, Location, Location with Kirstie Allsopp, Phil was a property surveyor and set up a home-finding service to help time-poor buyers before his television success, so it's fair to say he knows what he's talking about.
Now he has partnered with DIY retailer Wickes, and has come up with five simple tips to give homes more buyer appeal - all without resorting to big projects such as installing new kitchens and bathrooms.
"You don't need a full renovation to impress buyers - far from it," says Phil. "In my experience it's the small, thoughtful touches that really help a home stand out. Storage is an absolute must in my opinion. Clear, clutter-free spaces instantly make a home feel calmer and more inviting.
