Findlay's backing his boss on the ECHR exit

SCOTTISH Conservative leader Russell Findlay has backed Kemi Badenoch’s plan to pull the UK out of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Mr Findlay was quizzed about the policy on BBC Scotland’s Sunday Show ahead of his address to the Tory Party conference.

Last year, he said he did not want to leave the ECHR “at this stage” but he has now been convinced.

He told host Lindsay Bews: “I think people have been able to see, year after year, that the ECHR is no longer fit for purpose and it has blocked successive governments from being able to deal with the issue of illegal migration.
