Findlay calls out SNP for 'lies' over net zero policy

THE Scottish Government's environmental "lies" were called out by the Scottish Tories yesterday.

The party claimed the SNP administration was sending £27million abroad to help with climate projects while forcing Scots to fork out thousands in the race to net zero.

Party leader Russell Findlay urged the Nats to axe their "just transition" plans in favour of a more pragmatic approach that will save taxpayers cash.

He called on John Swinney to agree to more oil and gas exploration in the North Sea to ensure Scotland's energy security, and to end the SNP's long-term opposition to building new nuclear power reactors. He even offered a bet with any politician that the country will not reach net zero by 2045.
