'Discussions continue' on rates as Trump deadline nears
FEARS were growing last night that a crucial UK-US steel tariff deal might not go ahead.
Downing Street yesterday refused to say if ministers are confident the deal to avoid American tariffs on UK steel would be struck as Donald Trump’s deadline looms.
The US president has announced plans to start implementing levies on trade partners from tomorrow.
Britain has already managed to negotiate an agreement with the US that reduces tariffs for car manufacturers.
