BRIT UNFLUSTERED BY CORENTIN'S MELTDOWN

- By Neil McLeman

JACOB FEARNLEY kept his cool to reach his first ATP Tour quarter-final as Corentin Moutet suffered a meltdown in the Queen’s Club heat.

The flaky Frenchman was hit with three code violations on the hottest day of the summer and called the umpire “crazy” in a furious mid-match rant.

During a changeover in the final set, Moutet said to the Egyptian chair umpire Adel Nour: “What is wrong with you? Saying, ‘Time violations’, it is like your only job.

“I’m running every day for three hours and you are telling me what I have to do.

“This guy’s crazy. Killing me. You are killing me every day.”

BBC commentator John Lloyd said: “He’s lost it. This guy’s crazy? Look in the mirror!”

Despite wearing an all-black outfit in the afternoon sun, Fearnley, 23, won 6-3 2-6 6-2 to join British No.1 Jack Draper in today’s quarter-finals.

The Scot, who has now won 17 consecutive matches against French players, said: “Obviously I am very happy to be in my first quarter-final and even better to do it here in London.
