Farage defends party ad following racist claims

NIGEL FARAGE and Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar clashed yesterday as by-election campaigning descended into chaos.

Reform UK sparked a storm when it paid for a Facebook campaign advert that alleged Mr Sarwar will “prioritise” Pakistani people.

It included clips of the MSP making a speech where he promoted his culture and called for more people from south Asian communities to enter politics in Scotland.

Mr Farage was asked about it at his press conference in London yesterday and accused the Scottish Labour leader of having “introduced sectarianism into Scottish politics”.

He defended his party's attack advert that was aired live by national broadcasters.

The advert has been condemned by Labour and the SNP as “racist” as they called on Meta to remove it from Facebook.
