Drug user in crossbow attack jailed for 4 years

A PARANOID drug user who tried to murder three armed police officers in a crossbow attack was jailed for just four years yesterday.

Michael Ley, 35, fired five or six bolts from the weapon as officers took cover behind a vehicle during the raid.

Judge Lord Stuart told Ley he acknowledged he has expressed remorse for his actions, adding: “Perhaps the most mitigating factor is you now accept you cannot use cannabis again.”
