Hearts' summer investment has heightened belief

DEL'S JAMBOS HAVE GREAT EXPECTATIONS

DEREK McINNES has challenged his Hearts players to show they can shoulder the club’s heightened expectations by delivering a strong performance against Rangers tomorrow.

New minority investor Tony Bloom cranked up the hype around the Jambos when he declared ahead of their opening Premiership match in August that he believed they had “a very good chance of at least being second” this season.

Hearts are currently joint top of the table with Celtic and six points ahead of Gers ahead of tomorrow’s Ibrox showdown.

Asked if he felt they needed to produce a performance to back up Bloom’s bold words this weekend, McInnes said: “I think need is maybe not the right word, but I think it would be nice if we could go and demonstrate that.
