Bren: Unrest limited to off-field issues

- BY RYAN McDONALD

CRISIS? What crisis? Top of the league. Nine points clear of Rangers. Ninety minutes away from Hampden.

It's understandable Brendan Rodgers doesn't buy into the hyperbole surrounding Celtic.

Yes, the Champions League was a missed opportunity and the transfer window was a mess.

The fallout over those fatal mistakes will rage on as fans vent fury at the board.

But on the park? Domestically, the Hoops aren't in bad nick.

Rodgers has no control over the off-field issues. What he can point to is an unbeaten league start and a Premier Sports Cup quarterfinal spot.

And crucially, for all the board protests, Rodgers knows the fans are fully behind the team.

He said: “I see this noise that's around about Celtic in crisis and this sort of thing, It absolutely is not. The team is coming together again.

“Domestically, if you look at how we started the season, were not at our best. But everything that's happening now is all natural with the changes we've had and players adapting and coming in late into our structure.
