Cancer 'super jab' will prove game changer in treatment

A CANCER ‘super jab’ has been administered in Scotland for the first time, with experts hailing it as a game-changer in how the disease is treated.
Nivolumab, a widely used immunotherapy for several types of cancer, can now be given to patients by injection. The country’s first dose was prescribed at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre in the city’s Western General Hospital. The drug has traditionally been administered intravenously, which can take up to two hours.
