Bills 'to be tiered like tax to foot big net zero cosť

MIDDLE-class families could face higher energy bills than poorer households in order to fund the transition to net zero, a regulator boss has suggested.

Ofgem’s chief executive Jonathan Brearley said the body will launch a review of bills this summer to determine whether it should adjust thresholds “related to income”, even if that looks “logistically challenging”.
