ATTITUDE OF ALFIE TO ADVERSITY WAS THE PERFECT RESPONSE

JIMMY THELIN has praised Aberdeen defender Alfie Dorrington for the way he has bounced back from his European disappointment.

The 20-year-old centre-half, who is on loan from Tottenham, was not registered by the Dons for their upcoming Conference League group stage campaign.

Thelin assured Dorrington he would still have a key role to play, though, and he subsequently started and impressed in the home Premiership goalless draw with Livingston last weekend.

The Englishman will be looking to take that form into Saturday when Aberdeen face Motherwell at Pittodrie for a place in the Premier Sports Cup semifinals. "What Alfie did was good," said Thelin. "If all the players keep doing these things then the team will do well in all competitions.
