Attenborough inspires

THE Prince of Wales has told how he tried to follow the example set by Sir David Attenborough’s nature documentaries as he shines a light on heroes battling to protect the planet.

Today William will launch Guardians, a docu-series about rangers.

They are described as “the brilliant people, men and women, who are on the forefront and the front line of conservation around the world”.

Speaking at a screening and panel discussion about the six-part series, he said: “Rangers are particularly unknown, their stories unseen. They are the unsung heroes of the natural world.

“This is all about highlighting them, showcasing them and realising also how dangerous and how difficult this job is.”

William, who spearheaded the project and introduces each of the Guardians episodes, gave a nod to veteran broadcaster and national treasure Sir David, 99.
