Arne thrilled to have O'Neill keeping it simple for revival

- BY MICHAEL GANNON

ARNE ENGELS reckons the Celtic squad can see clearly now the Wilfried Nancy reign has gone.

The Belgian didn't want to put the boot in to the departed boss - and he didn’t have to as there was enough evidence on the pitch in the 4-0 win over Dundee United to prove his point.

Engels reckons the confidence that evaporated under Nancy came flooding back with Martin O'Neill back on board.

There was now cohesion instead of confusion.

The returning club legend made it simple for Celtic, with O'Neill going back to basics to keep the side in the title race.

Engels also hit form again to cap a dominant display with a cool finish to make it 2-0 before the break after Yang Hyun-jun’s superb 27th-minute opener.

Benjamin Nygren and Daizen Maeda gave the Hoops daylight in the second period and Engels said: “It’s really strange for us.

“Obviously, there weren't the results that we were hoping for. But I think now that's behind us.

“We're not proud of that and we're still thinking about what we should have done better.

“But it’s now up to us to just move on now and go from here because we showed that we have a really good squad with a lot of talent, and that we can win games and not give any opposition any chance.

“Everybody has a lot of confidence now.

“It’s really good we just stick to the basics again and that we do what we are good at.
