Sweeping changes in America
Scoop USA Newspaper
|ScoopUSA Volume 65 - Number 6
Oh, what a difference a day makes. Since January 20, 2025, came along and Donald Trump was re-sworn in as President of the United States, he has been making a lot of sweeping changes. As President, he carries a lot of power, and he's using it. We can only imagine that over the next 4 years, President Trump is going to give us plenty to report on in this Civics column and in our main column for the SCOOP.
Bottom line, as American citizens, we need to be informed. We need to know what's going on with our government. In the spirit of what this column was founded on, educating our readers about civics issues, we will, to the best of our ability, stay on top of many of the things coming out of the White House pertaining to laws and programs in our nation, that we need to be aware of.
It's been said a kazillion times over the years that if you want to hide something from Black people, put it in writing. Supposedly, "we" don't like to read. Well, all I have to say is we better start reading. An informed people is a prepared people. People who are sleeping get hit the hardest, later saying, "I didn't know." "Nobody told me this was happening." Wake up and stay woke.
Here's some of what President Trump has done since getting sworn in on January 20, 2025.
President Donald Trump started his second administration with a blitz of policy actions to reorient the U.S. government.
His executive orders cover issues that range from trade, immigration, and U.S. foreign aid to demographic diversity, civil rights, and the hiring of federal workers. Some have an immediate policy impact. Others are more symbolic. And some already are being challenged by federal lawsuits. In total, the President's actions reflect many of his campaign promises.
