The 59th annual Country Music Awards, which recently aired on television, was a blazing burst of boots, ballads, and bigstage bravado.

- Yanina Carter

The ceremony celebrated the songs, artists, and stories shaping today's country music, paying tribute to the past and making more history. Well, as we approach the new year (2026), a host of awards are coming our way. From the Gotham Film Awards, Family Film & TV Awards, Critics' Choice Awards, and the Golden Globe Awards, to name a few, our movie stars are getting the acknowledgment that they deserve.

Speaking of awards, the late actor Chadwick Boseman was honored with the 2,828th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday (November 20). Director Ryan Coogler was among the speakers at the event, with Boseman's widow, Simone Ledward Boseman, accepting the honor on his behalf.

On a similar note, Michael B. Jordan was honored with the Hollywood Cinematheque Award. The popular actor was honored Thursday (November 20) with the American Cinematheque Award, a lifetime achievement award, at the 39th American Cinematheque Awards ceremony held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. The award, presented annually to an extraordinary artist currently making a significant contribution to the art of the Moving Picture, celebrates mid-career achievements in Hollywood. Jordan, at 38, is one of the youngest recipients of this prestigious award, established in 1986. The ceremony was attended by a star-studded lineup of celebrities, including Ryan Coogler, Tessa Thompson, Mahershala Ali, Daniel Kaluuya, Delroy Lindo, and Yvette Nicole Brown, who celebrated Jordan's impact on the film industry.
