Trump admin freezes funds to Harvard

Democrats back varsity’ s decision on activism on campus, call on others to take a stand

‘The federal government froze more than USD 2.2 billion in grants and contracts to Harvard University, since the institution said Monday it won't comply with the Trump administration’s demands to limit activism on campus.

In a letter to Harvard Friday, the administration called for reshaping of admissions, hiring of faculty, leadership and conduct an audit on their views about diversity. They also called for a ban on face masks, which appeared to target pro-Palestinian protesters, stop recognising or funding any student group or club that promotes criminal activity.
