Rajnath flags off IOS SAGAR at Karwar naval base

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has flagged off the Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR from the strategically located Karwar naval base in Karnataka. The IOS SAGAR initiative aims to promote cooperation with nations in the Indian Ocean Region, reinforcing India's commitment to a secure and inclusive maritime environment.

During his visit to the base, Singh also inaugurated newly developed infrastructure, a significant milestone under Project Seabird. The Navy is expanding the crucial naval base as part of Project Seabird, which was initially designed to accommodate 10 ships and has now been expanded to berth 32 ships and submarines, along with 23 yardcraft.
