Pak closes airspace for Indian flights, says stopping of Indus water will be considered act of war
-
India on Thursday announced suspending visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect in line with its retaliatory measures against Islamabad. This was in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said all existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked from 27 April. It said medical visas issued to Pakistanis will be valid only till 29 April.
It also advised Indians to avoid travelling to Pakistan and advised those currently in the neighbouring country to return home “at the earliest”.
Meanwhile, Pakistan said any move to divert water meant for it under the Indus Water Treaty will be considered an “act of war” as it announced the suspension of trade, bilateral accords, including the Simla Agreement among other moves in retaliation to New Delhi’s measures against the country.
