Airtel offers joint telecom anti-fraud initiative

Airtel has reached out to Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea with a proposal for a collaborative initiative aimed at combating the rising tide of telecom fraud and scams affecting consumers.

The telco has urged all operators to work together in addressing the escalating threat posed by cyber criminals, citing a staggering 1.7 million cybercrime complaints in India during the first nine months of 2024, which have resulted in financial losses exceeding Rs 11,000 crore.
