Society closes session with diverse series of displays

It’s not often Charles Darwin, War Hammer and the Tour de France get mentioned in the same breath-but they were just some of the topics covered by Lanarkshire Philatelic Society members during their latest get-together.

There was a “wonderfully varied collection of stamps, miniature sheets, covers, postmarks, postcards and posters” to view during the group’s final meeting of session.

Members were asked to present a “one-board display-or pay £1” and responded magnificently as only £3 was paid.

The titles of the displays showcased were:

Brian DowDunfermline Post Offices and corresponding postmarks.

Maureen Mathieson -Life of Charles Darwin.

Elsie Miller —Jersey Women of Achievement.

Alan Rushworth-East Kilbride—historic views of the village.
