Witches put on a magic sell-out show

A SELLOUT performance of Roald Dahl's 'The Witches' at Haslingden High School featured a song specially written and performed by a 14-year-old student.

Haslingden High School's Christmas Show was cast before the summer holidays and rehearsals, for some of the cast members, began before the school finished in July.

Student Sylvie Knightley, who also sings in a band called The Second, wrote a special song to accompany the dramatic performance and sang it in the primary school performance and two evening shows in the Sixth Form Theatre.

Two students were cast for each of the main character roles and these included Grand High Witch, played by Ben Lees and Oliver Newell, Grandma played by Bonnie Wilson and Jessica Hardaker, and The Boy played by Ava Fallon and Hattie White.
