Tributes to star Codie after her tragic death

22-year-old's dad was killed in 2003 sword attack

FRIENDS and relatives have paid tribute to a woman following her sudden death at the age of 22.

Codie-Leigh Meakin from Haslingden died suddenly last week.

The circumstances of the former Haslingden High School pupil's death have not been made public at this time but her death has been referred to the coroner and an inquest is expected to be opened this week.

Friends and have launched an online fundraiser to pay for Codie's funeral which has so far raised more than £1,400. An event is also taking place on Saturday at St Mary's Football Club in Haslingden from 4pm which will end with a candlelit vigil for Codie.
