TWO former Royal Marine Commandos will be rowing 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean together.

Former Marines take on epic challenge

Jonathan Towers, from Helmshore, along with his good friend Sean Phelps, will be taking on the mammoth challenge in December to raise awareness and support charities - Care after Combat and Samaritans. They will be flying to Gran Canaria where they will begin their rowing journey all the way to Barbados.

It is expected the journey will take between 50 and 60 days.

Jonathan said: “I have been rowing every day to prepare.
